Auction.com is hiring a part-time Associate Auction Coordinator to represent the company and participate in live real estate auctions, traditionally held at courthouse steps. The role involves welcoming and assisting bidders, helping ensure auction requirements and processes are completed, and educating customers about participating in auctions and available Auction.com resources. The territory is Williamsburg/Newport News, Virginia, with travel to nearby county courthouse auctions—sometimes up to two hours away. A rental car is provided for travel outside the primary territory; regular travel to event locations in the employee’s personal vehicle is also required. The Area/State Manager assigns auctions according to scheduling needs, so the role requires a flexible and adaptable schedule. Auctions occur Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Each auction day typically involves three to four hours of work. The position averages six to ten hours per week, though hours fluctuate and are not guaranteed. Required in-person and Zoom training sessions and team calls are also part of the role, with opportunities to earn additional compensation. The position requires customer service, accurate handling and entry of sensitive buyer and seller information, multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and maintaining professionalism with customers and on-site staff. The employee may handle funds, including cash, and must be able to stand for extended periods outdoors in all weather and lift up to 50 pounds when needed. Compensation and benefits include competitive pay, training and professional growth opportunities, employee recognition and referral programs, eligibility to participate in the Auction.com 401(k) program, and travel pay for applicable personal vehicle use.
