About The Position

Segal McCambridge is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its New York City Asbestos Defense team. The role involves managing a diverse caseload involving asbestos and toxic tort defense, product liability, and premises exposure claims. Requirements

Licensed to practice law in New York.
At least 1 year of experience in asbestos defense, toxic tort, or related litigation.
Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to independently handle motion practice, depositions, and client communications.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Team-oriented mindset and a proactive, client-focused approach.

Nice To Haves

Additional license to practice in Connecticut, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

Draft pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions.
Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
Manage discovery and develop case strategy.
Attend court conferences, hearings, and mediations, and participate in settlement negotiations.
Communicate directly with clients, insurers, and opposing counsel.
Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials as needed.
