About The Position

Provides daily supportive and functional care to residents in a compassionate environment, following established community care procedures and the direction of nursing leadership. Works collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team that focuses on residents as the directors of their own care. This is a full-time position with a 3–11 shift and a 40-hour workweek.

Requirements

• Current CNA certification in Missouri or Illinois; for Pennsylvania, enrollment or eligibility for enrollment within 120 days after completing the training program on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry, following successful completion of an approved training and competency evaluation or competency evaluation program.
• Desire to be part of a person-centered care team.
• Ability to communicate with residents.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull 45 pounds.
• Willingness to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with direct patient or resident care is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain residents’ comfort and provide physical care with activities of daily living within scope of practice; respond to call lights and requests and report observations to the nurse.
• Address residents’ personal care needs promptly while preserving dignity and encouraging independence.
• Observe residents for changing needs and conditions and report relevant information to the nurse.
• Participate in residents’ care and service plans to improve their lives.
• Assist residents during mealtimes and feed those who need full assistance.
• Build and maintain meaningful relationships with residents and families, providing compassionate and professional support.
• Support residents’ involvement in decisions about daily activities and assist them with activities.
• Assist with residents’ therapies and treatments under the direction of licensed staff.
• Document care provided in clinical records.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.
