About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas is dedicated to enhancing quality of life through the power of work, providing job training, employment placement services, and community-based programs funded by sales of donated clothing and household items. The Assistant Store Manager supports daily operations at a Goodwill retail location and helps create a positive, inclusive environment for team members and customers. The role assists with staffing, training, scheduling, and smooth store operations aligned with Goodwill’s mission and Core Values.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must have a reliable means of transportation.
• Able to bend, reach, and stand for extensive periods and lift up to 40 pounds; may need to lift heavier goods or items with assistance from another team member.
• Able to perform repetitive-motion tasks such as tagging or hanging clothes; manual dexterity is required.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of two years of management or supervisory experience in a business or retail setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in hiring, training, and supervising team members.
• Help manage daily store operations, including scheduling, cash handling, and inventory.
• Promote exceptional customer service and uphold safety and compliance standards.
• Ensure proper handling of donations and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
• Monitor store performance and assist with reports, budgets, and loss prevention.
