About The Position

Mobile Generation, an authorized Verizon Wireless retailer, is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to work alongside the Store Manager and support the retail team. The role helps ensure sales associates understand the company’s selling process and Verizon Wireless products and services, and that the store meets operational standards. The ideal candidate has retail experience, preferably in wireless, and can deliver a strong customer experience through effective sales, product and service knowledge, and professional handling of customer concerns. The Assistant Store Manager helps create a positive, customer- and goal-oriented environment; supports hiring, scheduling, and supervision of sales associates; and coaches the team. The position also supports promotional activities, inventory procedures, and other duties assigned by the Store Manager. Candidates must be able to travel to locations across the Midwest as business needs dictate and work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. Mobile Generation operates more than 50 Verizon Wireless retail locations in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. The role offers compensation of up to $70,000 per year, including salary, commissions, and performance bonuses.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience in a similar role in a retail environment, preferably with Verizon Wireless or another wireless business.
Proof of achievement in prior sales roles.
Ability to lead, coach, and inspire team members.
Enthusiasm for retail, wireless technology products, and customer service.
Ability to travel to the company’s Midwest locations as business needs dictate.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

Work alongside the Store Manager to build a positive, customer- and goal-oriented environment.
Assist the Store Manager with hiring, scheduling, and supervising Verizon Wireless Sales Associates as directed.
Meet or exceed personal and team key performance indicators each month.
Coach and mentor team members daily to help them provide an exceptional customer experience.
Ensure the assigned location follows Verizon Wireless and Mobile Generation guidelines.
Assist the Store Manager with promotions, inventory procedures, and other assigned duties.
Model personal and professional conduct for employees and others.
