About The Position

Clarks is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store leadership and help build a successful culture of sales and performance. The role supports team selling, recruitment, associate training and development, goal-setting, employee relations, P&L analysis, company initiatives, merchandising, and the safety and security of associates and customers. The Assistant Store Manager handles employee relations issues in the Store Manager’s absence.

The role requires retail and prior management experience. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, frequent bending, climbing and moving ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Partner with store leadership to drive a successful culture of sales and performance.
• Support a team selling environment.
• Participate in all areas of store recruitment.
• Teach, coach, and train store associates within an established timeframe.
• Help create reachable but high goals for themselves and associates, and ensure the store has staffing levels needed to achieve total store goals.
• Handle employee relations issues within the store in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Participate in analysis of the P&L.
• Lead change for associates and champion company initiatives.
• Ensure products are merchandised properly according to company directives.
• Ensure the safety and security of associates and customers.
