About The Position
Clarks is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store leadership and help drive sales, performance, and a successful team culture. The role involves supporting team selling, participating in recruitment, and teaching, coaching, and training associates. The Assistant Store Manager helps establish achievable goals and ensure the store has staffing levels needed to meet total store goals. They handle employee relations issues when the Store Manager is absent, participate in P&L analysis, champion company initiatives, ensure products are merchandised according to company directives, and help maintain the safety and security of associates and customers. The position requires retail and prior management experience. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, frequent bending, climbing and moving ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Partner with store leadership to drive a successful culture of sales and performance.
- Support a team selling environment.
- Participate in all areas of store recruitment.
- Teach, coach, and train store associates within an established timeframe.
- Help create reachable but high goals for yourself and associates, and ensure total store goals have the staffing levels needed to achieve them.
- Handle employee relations issues within the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Participate in analysis of the P&L.
- Lead change for associates and champion company initiatives.
- Ensure products are merchandised properly according to company directives.
- Ensure the safety and security of associates and customers.
