About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports daily operations at one or more self-storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager. The role helps ensure facilities meet cleanliness standards and deliver operational excellence. Assistant Store Managers build customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, use a structured sales process, and manage customer accounts. This position works across multiple stores in the district. The office closes at 6 p.m., and the listed location is closed on Sundays.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer-facing work experience.
• A current valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain site cleanliness, including the office, storage building interiors and exteriors, and surrounding areas; tasks include sweeping, mopping, and grounds maintenance.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns involving billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
