Assistant Store Manager, Valley Fair (New Store Opening)
About The Position
FIGS is hiring an Assistant Store Manager for its upcoming store at Valley Fair Mall. The role assists the Store Manager with retail operations and the development and management of sales associates. The Assistant Store Manager helps set the tone for the retail team, bring the FIGS brand to life, and drive business through strong management and customer experiences. Close collaboration with the leadership team is essential to building a team that meets and exceeds goals. The position includes spending at least four days per week on the sales floor leading by example, coaching team members, and supporting store standards and sales goals. It also includes operational work such as communicating inventory and product performance needs, tracking hours and expenses, reviewing financial statements, unpacking inventory boxes weighing 5–30 pounds, and ensuring safety and security procedures are followed. The role requires availability to work Black Friday and during the specified holiday-season period beginning in the second week of December and continuing until the end of the holiday season, which is defined annually.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of retail store experience.
- At least 2 years managing high-volume retail.
- Action-oriented and driven to achieve results.
- Ability to motivate others and build effective teams.
- Skilled at mediating and negotiating to resolve conflict.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Availability to work Black Friday and during the stated holiday-season period.

Responsibilities
- Represent the FIGS brand and mission consistently.
- Participate in visual merchandising and coach the team on store standards.
- Support the execution of innovative projects on tight deadlines.
- Communicate inventory and product performance needs to the Store Manager weekly.
- Spend at least four days per week on the sales floor leading by example and providing feedback and coaching in the moment.
- Educate and train the team to deliver an excellent customer experience.
- Manage and maintain store sales goals.
- Unpack inventory boxes as required; boxes may weigh 5–30 pounds.
- Accurately track hours and expenses and review P&L and income statements for accuracy.
- Ensure safety and security procedures are followed and communicate potential issues.
- Assist the Store Manager with retail operations and the development and management of sales associates.
