About The Position

JD Finish Line is hiring management team members for its Annapolis Mall store in Annapolis, Maryland. Management members oversee daily store operations, lead and develop team members, and provide exceptional customer experiences while contributing to store growth and performance. The roles involve sales and financial management, merchandise and inventory oversight, operational compliance, local marketing, and community engagement. The posting describes two positions: Assistant Store Manager and Supervisor, with different weekly availability and hours requirements. The work takes place in a moderately noisy retail setting and includes substantial standing and merchandise handling.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Retail Store Manager or in a similar role, with a track record of achieving sales targets and managing a team.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Passion for outstanding customer service and creating memorable shopping experiences.
• Ability to analyze sales data, manage budgets, and make data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in retail management software and basic computer applications.
• Assistant Store Manager: open availability to work the hours necessary to open and close the store, including mornings, days, and nights; minimum standard work week of 5 days; average standard work week of 44 hours, with increased hours during peak sales periods.
• Supervisor: availability to work the hours necessary to open and close the store, including mornings, days, and nights; at least 5 days of availability; minimum standard work week of 30 hours.
• All management roles require weekend and holiday availability, punctuality and regular attendance, and reliable transportation.
• Must speak, read, and write English clearly and perform business-related mathematics.
• May need to move to different locations within the company’s network based on operational needs and career growth.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to meet the position’s physical demands, including prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pulling, climbing ladders or stairs, and regularly lifting 5–25 pounds; heavier lifting may sometimes be required.
• Must have good vision, including color differentiation.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of retail leadership experience is strongly preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and develop a motivated team; set goals and provide ongoing feedback.
• Deliver an exceptional shopping experience by addressing customer needs, resolving issues, and maintaining high customer-service standards.
• Drive store sales and profitability through merchandise management, promotional strategies, and achievement of sales targets.
• Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and store maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
• Manage store budgets, control expenses, and analyze sales data to improve performance and revenue growth.
• Implement local marketing initiatives and build community relationships to strengthen brand presence and attract customers.
• Monitor industry trends and competitor activity; identify improvements and implement solutions to enhance store operations.
• Perform additional duties and projects as required.
