About The Position

JD Finish Line is hiring Assistant Store Managers and Supervisors for its Macy's store in Newport Centre, Jersey City, NJ. Management team members oversee daily store operations, lead and develop staff, deliver strong customer experiences, and help achieve sales and profitability goals. The role includes managing merchandise and inventory, visual merchandising, store maintenance, budgets and expenses, and compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Managers also implement local marketing efforts, engage with the community, monitor industry and competitor trends, and identify ways to improve store performance. Additional duties and projects may be assigned.

Assistant Store Managers must have open availability for store opening and closing hours and work a minimum of five days per week. The standard work week averages 44 hours and may increase during peak periods. Supervisors must be available for opening and closing hours, have at least five days of availability, and work a minimum standard of 30 hours per week. All management roles require weekend and holiday availability, reliable transportation, punctuality, and regular attendance. Employees must communicate, read, and write English and perform business-related mathematics. Movement to other company locations may be required based on operational needs and career growth.

The position takes place in a moderately noisy retail setting. It involves prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pulling, and potentially climbing ladders or using stairs. Regular lifting of 5–25 pounds is required, and heavier lifting may sometimes be necessary. Good vision, including color differentiation, is required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Requirements

• Proven experience as a Retail Store Manager or in a similar role, with a record of achieving sales targets and managing a team.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Passion for customer service and creating memorable shopping experiences.
• Ability to analyze sales data, manage budgets, and make data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in retail management software and basic computer applications.
• Assistant Store Manager: open availability for store opening and closing hours, including mornings, days, and nights; at least five workdays per week; an average standard work week of 44 hours, with increased hours possible during peak sales periods.
• Supervisor: availability for store opening and closing hours, including mornings, days, and nights; at least five days of availability; minimum standard work week of 30 hours.

• Ability to speak English clearly, read and write English, and perform business-related mathematics.
