About The Position

The Assistant Starbucks Manager supports the Starbucks Manager in overseeing daily operations of the licensed Starbucks department. The role helps drive sales, deliver exceptional customer service, maintain Starbucks brand standards, ensure food safety compliance, and develop a high-performing team. The Assistant Starbucks Manager helps create a welcoming café environment while supporting operational excellence and profitability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer and cash-handling proficiency.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate department equipment, including espresso machines, blenders, and ovens.
• Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Previous coffee shop, food service, retail, or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of Starbucks products, beverage preparation, and customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily Starbucks department operations and support beverage and food production to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering, receiving, and stock management.
• Ensure proper merchandising, product availability, store presentation, cleanliness, organization, and department readiness.
• Deliver exceptional customer service consistent with Starbucks and company standards; create a welcoming environment and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Promote customer loyalty through positive interactions and product knowledge, and support promotional programs and seasonal product launches.
• Assist with recruiting, training, coaching, and developing Starbucks associates.
• Support labor scheduling and daily deployment of team members, and foster a positive, inclusive, customer-focused work environment.
• Provide leadership and operational direction in the Starbucks Manager’s absence and reinforce performance expectations, policies, and operational standards.
• Ensure beverages and food items are prepared according to Starbucks recipes and standards, and monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation.
• Ensure proper product handling, storage, and rotation; maintain compliance with Starbucks operational procedures and company requirements.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety regulations; maintain cleaning schedules and sanitation practices.
• Complete required documentation, logs, and operational records accurately.
• Assist in achieving department sales, labor, and profitability goals; monitor waste, inventory, and operational expenses.
• Support initiatives to increase sales and customer satisfaction, analyze department performance, and assist in developing improvement action plans.
