About The Position

Take 5 is hiring an Assistant Shop Manager to help oversee a shop, lead and develop employees, and provide a hassle-free customer experience. The role includes learning and performing oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and providing other light maintenance services. Employees of different backgrounds and experience levels will be trained in the Take 5 way. Assistant Shop Managers assume the Shop Manager’s responsibility and authority when the manager is absent. They help run the shop floor, ensure vehicle checks are completed and customers are satisfied, perform opening and closing procedures, assist with inventory, and are expected to perform technician duties. The posted starting salary is $17.75–$21.00 per hour, with a $300 employee signing bonus and paid bi-weekly bonus.

Requirements

Reliable transportation.
Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and twist for extended periods, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in hot or cold weather conditions.
Remain alert and aware of surroundings.
Gain a strong knowledge of the company’s oils and services.

Responsibilities

Check in with customers before they leave to ensure they had a great experience.
Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager in the Shop Manager’s absence.
Run the floor by ensuring employees are in their assigned positions, vehicle checks are completed, and customers are satisfied before leaving.
Perform opening and closing procedures.
Assist with counting and adjusting inventory.
Train and develop subordinate employees.
Act as a role model and hold team members accountable.
Drain motor oil and change oil filters.
Change engine air filters and cabin filters.
Wash windshields and adjust tire pressure.
Inspect and top off fluids.
Assist customers in selecting oil types and other services.
Process payments for services performed.
Perform coolant exchanges and transmission drain-and-fill services.
Restock and maintain floor inventory levels.
Maintain the cleanliness of the shop, office, and bathroom.
