About The Position

LV Petroleum is hiring an Assistant Shop Manager for its Truck Services division in Albert Lea, Minnesota. The position supports the Truck Services Manager in overseeing daily Truck Shop operations, supervising and training technicians, delivering high-quality customer service, and maintaining operational and safety standards. The Assistant Shop Manager helps manage workflow, equipment, inventory, expenses, and revenue initiatives, and performs the Truck Services Manager’s duties in their absence.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in a truck service or automotive environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills, including the ability to motivate teams.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of financial performance metrics, including P&L management.
• Proficiency with computer systems and software used for service tracking and inventory management.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• A degree in management or a related field.
• Supervisory experience in a truck service or automotive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing Truck Services department operations and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Supervise and train staff, fostering teamwork, accountability, and excellent customer service.
• Monitor workflow and support troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and safety standards are followed.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies, and ensure services are completed accurately and on time.
• Address customer concerns and provide prompt solutions.
• Monitor expenses and support initiatives to achieve financial goals and grow revenue.
• Perform the Truck Services Manager’s duties in their absence.
