About The Position

Take 5 is hiring an Assistant Shop Manager to help oversee a shop and deliver a positive customer experience. The company provides training in its oil-change and light-maintenance services, including changing oil, replacing wiper blades and air filters, and checking tire pressure. Employees are expected to learn about the company’s oils and services and may perform both management and technician duties. The position offers a starting salary of $17.75–$21.00 per hour, a $300 employee signing bonus, and paid bi-weekly bonuses.

Requirements

Reliable transportation.
Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in hot or cold weather conditions.
Remain alert and aware of surroundings.
Develop a strong knowledge of the company’s oils and services.

Responsibilities

Check in with customers before they leave to ensure they had a good experience.
Assume the Shop Manager’s responsibilities and authority in the manager’s absence.
Run the shop floor, ensuring employees are positioned appropriately, vehicle checks are completed, and customers are satisfied.
Perform opening and closing procedures.
Assist with counting and adjusting inventory.
Train and develop subordinate employees.
Serve as a role model and hold team members accountable.
Drain motor oil and change oil filters.
Change engine air filters and cabin filters.
Wash windshields and adjust tire pressure.
Inspect and top off fluids.
Assist customers in selecting oil types and other services.
Process payments for services performed.
Perform coolant exchanges and transmission drain-and-fill services.
Restock and maintain floor inventory.
Maintain cleanliness of the shop, office, and bathroom.
