About The Position
National Water Main Cleaning Company-New England (NWMCC), part of the Carylon Corporation, provides municipal infrastructure inspection and rehabilitation services throughout New England. The Shop Assistant supports equipment maintenance, tool organization, inventory, and facility upkeep. The employee reports to the Superintendents and assists mechanics with routine service and inspections. The position is located in Canton, Massachusetts, and is scheduled for a Monday–Friday day shift, 40–45 hours per week. Pay is $18–$22 per hour, plus overtime.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities
- Clean vehicle interiors and exteriors to maintain their appearance and performance.
- Keep the shop and surrounding area neat and orderly.
- Sweep, shovel, or vacuum loose debris or salvageable scraps from work areas.
- Inspect parts, equipment, and vehicles for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations.
- Assist with cleaning and restoring shop supplies.
- Track inventory levels and restock supplies.
- Assist mechanics with routine service and inspections.
- Drive company vehicles, including vans and commercial trucks over 10,000 pounds.
- Deliver material to jobsites.
