About The Position
National Water Main Cleaning Company-New England, part of Carylon Corporation, provides municipal infrastructure inspection and rehabilitation services across New England. The Shop Assistant supports equipment maintenance, tool organization, inventory tracking, supply restocking, routine service and inspections, and facility upkeep. The role reports to the Superintendents and is based in Canton, Massachusetts. The schedule is Monday through Friday on the day shift, for 40–45 hours per week. Pay is $18–$22 per hour, plus overtime.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities
- Clean vehicle interiors and exteriors to maintain their appearance and performance.
- Keep the shop and surrounding area neat and orderly.
- Sweep, shovel, or vacuum loose debris and salvageable scraps from work areas.
- Inspect parts, equipment, and vehicles for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations.
- Assist with cleaning and restoring proper supplies in the shop.
- Track inventory levels and restock supplies.
- Assist mechanics with routine service and inspections.
- Drive company vehicles, including vans and commercial trucks over 10,000 pounds.
- Deliver materials to jobsites.
- Support equipment maintenance, tool organization, and facility upkeep.
