Assistant Salon Manager, Licensed Cosmetologist
About The Position
SmartStyle Salon, located inside Walmart, is a salon offering hair services including haircuts, color, highlights, waxing, and specialty services. The Assistant Salon Manager provides leadership and guest service, assists the salon manager, understands guests’ needs, gives quality consultations, and performs requested services efficiently and professionally. The role requires a current cosmetology or barber license as required by state regulations, and the ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends. The position also involves technology-based administrative tasks, potentially including closing out the system at the end of the day. The salon is operated by Requis Salons, an independently owned and operated Regis franchisee with salons across multiple states under the SmartStyle, Supercuts, and Cost Cutters brands. Employment, wages, and benefits are managed by the franchisee. The posting lists full-time/part-time employment.
Requirements
- Hold a current cosmetology or barber license as required by state regulations.
- Be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Be comfortable with technology and able to perform administrative tasks.
- Be able to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Have good eyesight for observing guests’ hair, including close vision and color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Be able to stand, lift, reach, bend, and perform repetitive movements; occasional lifting of 10–25 pounds is required.
- Be comfortable with exposure to fragrances and chemicals used in salon treatments.
