Assistant Salon Manager
About The Position
The Assistant Salon Manager supports salon operations and helps lead a team of stylists while delivering exceptional customer experiences. The role combines cutting hair with helping manage daily salon operations, scheduling, team development, and salon growth. It may suit a licensed stylist who is interested in leadership and taking on more responsibility; prior management experience is not always required. Training in management and operations is provided through Great Clips University (GCU), along with ongoing support and instruction from salon management. Great Clips salons are independently owned and operated by third-party franchisees, which are responsible for hiring and personnel matters.
Requirements
- A valid Cosmetology and/or Barber License; requirements vary by state or province.
- Strong technical haircutting skills and great customer service.
- A team-first mindset and desire to encourage and support others.
- Clear communication skills and a positive, motivating attitude.
- Organization, flexibility, and a desire to help keep the salon running smoothly.
- An interest in growing leadership skills and taking on more responsibility.

- Prior management experience may be helpful, but is not always required.
