About The Position

The Assistant Restaurant Manager at The Blackwell Inn & Pfahl Conference Center partners with the Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations across the full-service restaurant, lounge, and in-room dining. This hands-on leadership role focuses on delivering outstanding guest experiences, operational excellence, and strong team performance in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 4 years of relevant experience.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of a 24/7 hospitality operation.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in hospitality or a related field.
• 6 or more years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a large team of Ohio State student employees, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
• Support daily operations across the restaurant, lounge, and in-room dining to ensure seamless and consistent service.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences and handle feedback and concerns professionally and with care.
• Collaborate with culinary leadership to exceed guest expectations and elevate the dining experience.
• Drive operational excellence through scheduling, payroll oversight, training, and performance management.
• Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, safety, and sustainability.
• Contribute to financial success by ensuring operations run efficiently and profitably.
