About The Position

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is hiring a part-time Assistant Pastry Chef to help prepare and decorate pastries and other baked goods. The role is part of a team producing a menu of more than 40 fresh-baked pastries, pies, cakes, and muffins made with whole ingredients. Shifts begin early in the morning. The position requires following recipes, attention to detail, adapting to change, and complying with food-handler and sanitation standards.

The work involves continuous standing and walking, with limited opportunities to sit, and lifting dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 pounds or more. Candidates must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation and be at least 18 years old. Large-scale baking or pastry experience is preferred but not required; formal baking or pastry education is a bonus, not a requirement.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to lift dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift, with limited opportunities for sitting.
• Ability to work early-morning shifts.

• One or more years of large-scale baking or pastry experience, including working quickly to decorate pastries; preferred but not required.
