Assistant Moving Center Manager
About The Position
U-Haul is hiring an Assistant Moving Center Manager to help operate a moving center and provide excellent customer service. The role frequently involves responsibility for the center’s day-to-day operations and running them in the General Manager’s absence. The position includes opportunities for advancement and on-the-job training. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. The position is located at 3133 E Parham Rd, Henrico, Virginia 23228, and pays $14.50 to $16.50 per hour. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts and may require safety precautions and protective gear. Physical activities include spending extended periods indoors and outdoors, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 pounds, with or without assistance. U-Haul states that, consistent with applicable state law, it will not hire or re-hire nicotine-product users in certain states, including Virginia. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
- Leadership experience in any form.
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts.
- Must be legally authorized to work without employer sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Run the center’s daily operations in the General Manager’s absence.
- Make moment-to-moment decisions about allocating time and resources to projects.
- Manage and assign team members to ensure customers receive an excellent first impression and high-quality care.
- Perform miscellaneous duties, such as installing hitches and brake controllers.
- Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
