About The Position

The Assistant Moving Center Manager supports the day-to-day operations of a U-Haul center and runs its daily operations in the General Manager’s absence. The role involves allocating time and resources, assigning team members, and helping ensure customers receive an excellent first impression and high-quality service. It also includes hands-on duties such as installing hitches and brake controllers, along with ongoing training through U-Haul University. The position is located at 4374 Thurman Rd, Forest Park, Georgia 30297. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine-product users in Georgia and certain other states. The role includes working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals, and may require protective gear. Physical tasks include extended periods indoors and outdoors, traversing spaces, repositioning to use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds, assisted or unassisted.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
Leadership experience in any form.
Customer service experience.
Ability to work a variety of shifts.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Run the center’s daily operations in the General Manager’s absence.
Make moment-to-moment decisions about allocating time and resources to projects.
Manage and assign team members to support excellent customer impressions and high-quality service.
Perform miscellaneous duties such as installing hitches and brake controllers.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
