About The Position

The UPS Store #5974 in Sheffield Village, Ohio, is hiring a full-time Assistant Manager to help run the store day to day. This hands-on retail role is second in charge and involves serving customers at the counter, supporting the team, and keeping the store running smoothly when the Store Manager is not present. The role reports to the Store Manager / Owner and pays $18–$21 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

Friendly, patient, and clear communication with customers, including during busy periods.
Reliable and punctual, with the ability to open or close the store as scheduled.
Comfortable leading a small team and setting a good example during a shift.
Basic computer skills and confidence learning the point-of-sale system.
Careful handling of cash, payments, customer packages, and customer information.
Able to lift and move packages and boxes as part of daily work.
Available to work some Saturdays and Sundays.

Nice To Haves

Retail, customer service, or shipping / print experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Help customers with shipping, packing, returns, printing, copying, faxing, and mailbox services.
Pack items safely, prepare shipping labels, and check packages in and out correctly.
Take payments, operate the register and point-of-sale system, and accurately handle cash and card sales.
Open and close the store, including cash counts and end-of-day closing steps.
Answer customer questions in person and by phone, and resolve problems calmly.
Support, train, and guide part-time team members during the shift.
Help with staff scheduling and cover shifts when team members call off.
Keep the store clean, organized, and stocked with boxes, packing supplies, and office products.
Track supplies and notify the manager when stock is running low.
Follow store procedures for drop-off packages, freight, and notary and print jobs when assigned.
