About The Position

The Assistant Manager helps lead a Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurant and supports the restaurant’s commitment to high-quality subs, excellent customer service, and a positive, community-minded team culture. The role works in a fast-paced, team-driven environment and may fill in for the Manager in all capacities when needed. The Assistant Manager helps maintain a notably clean restaurant, leads and trains a crew of 3 to 7 people, supports store operations, and contributes to management meetings and strategy sessions. Responsibilities include opening and closing tasks, food preparation, scheduling, inventory ordering, and providing customers with an exceptional experience. Franchise locations are independently owned and operated, and wages and benefits vary by franchisee.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
Serve Safe Food Handler certification.
Must be at least 18 years old to operate the slicer.
Must have reliable transportation.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with guests.
Ability to meet schedule requirements and be a reliable performer.
Strong menu and product knowledge.
Desire to improve personal abilities and skill sets.

Nice To Haves

One year of quick-service restaurant (QSR) experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain a restaurant that is noticeably cleaner than others.
Work in a fast-paced, team-driven atmosphere and multitask with a sense of urgency.
Interact with customers and provide an exceptional experience.
Serve as a key holder and perform tasks related to opening and closing the store.
Bake bread, perform food preparation, and slice products.
Manage and lead a crew of 3 to 7 people.
Create employee schedules.
Place inventory orders.
Fill in for the Manager in all capacities when needed.
Assist with employee training and lead by example.
Participate in management team meetings and strategy sessions.
Participate in Jersey Mike’s training programs.
