About The Position

TAP Sports Bar at MGM Grand is seeking an engaging and motivated Restaurant Assistant Manager to help oversee daily restaurant operations while creating memorable guest experiences. The Assistant Manager leads by example and fosters a welcoming atmosphere through exceptional service and hospitality.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• At least 2 years of relevant restaurant experience.
• Working knowledge of Culinary Union contracts.
• Basic knowledge of wine and spirits.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of sake.

Responsibilities

• Make daily floor plans for each shift to ensure proper rotation and coverage of stations.
• Supervise floor service in dining rooms during operating hours.
• Perform employee evaluations and manage issues related to attendance records.
• Maintain communication with the Chef regarding food service and menu issues.
• Communicate with management, chefs, and culinary staff to address needs or issues raised by guests and employees.
• Order supplies through the IP System and Purchasing, and prepare purchase requisitions for outlets obtaining items from the warehouse or support departments.
• Keep inventory forms and the stocking area updated.
• Inspect food received from support departments to ensure freshness and quality.
• Communicate directly with guests about special requests and large-party reservations.
