About The Position

TAP Sports Bar at MGM Grand is seeking an engaging and motivated Restaurant Assistant Manager to help oversee daily restaurant operations and create memorable guest experiences. The Assistant Manager leads by example and fosters a welcoming atmosphere through exceptional service and hospitality.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• At least 2 years of prior relevant restaurant experience required.
• Working knowledge of Culinary Union contracts.
• Basic knowledge of wine and spirits.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of sake.

Responsibilities

• Make daily floor plans for each shift to ensure proper rotation and coverage of stations.
• Supervise floor service in the dining rooms during operating hours.
• Perform employee evaluations and manage issues related to attendance records.
• Communicate with the Chef about food service and menu issues.
• Coordinate with management, chefs, and culinary staff to address requests and needs from guests and employees.
• Order supplies through the IP System and Purchasing, and prepare purchase requisitions for outlet needs from the warehouse or support departments.
• Keep inventory forms and the stocking area updated.
• Inspect food from support departments to ensure freshness and quality.
• Communicate directly with guests about special requests and large-party reservations.
