About The Position

Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Assistant Store Manager for a mission-focused retail team. The organization funds job training, education, and other community programs through sales of donated clothing and household items in its stores and online.

The Assistant Manager assists the Store Manager with operating the retail outlet and oversees store operations and supervises assigned personnel in the Store Manager’s absence. The role provides leadership and direction to staff, program participants, donors, and customers, while helping ensure production and quality goals, sales expectations, efficient operations, and a positive appearance at retail facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of management experience for external candidates.
• Internal candidates may qualify with a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of experience in the Goodwill Team Leader role.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organizational, problem-solving, and management skills.
• Customer- and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in operating the retail outlet.
• Oversee store operations and supervise assigned personnel in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Provide leadership and direction to staff, program participants, donors, and customers.
• Help ensure production and quality goals are achieved and sales expectations are met.
• Help ensure the store operates efficiently.
• Ensure staff and retail facilities apply organizational policies and procedures positively and maintain a positive internal and external appearance.
