About The Position
The Assistant Manager supports the Center Manager in operating the Wag BnB facility and maintaining Best Friends Pet Care standards. The role helps ensure a safe, clean, compliant, and welcoming environment for pets, clients, and staff, and takes the lead in the Center Manager’s absence. The Assistant Manager also supports team development, client relationships, community outreach, and oversight of boarding, daycare, and grooming services.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift large dogs.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Center Manager to oversee daily operations and maintain pet care standards.
- Lead facility operations in the Center Manager’s absence.
- Help ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance standards are met or exceeded.
- Assist with inventory management, supply stocking, and expense management.
- Support payroll processes, scheduling, and administrative tasks.
- Assist with recruiting, training, mentoring, and shadowing team members.
- Help create work schedules that balance business needs and team well-being.
- Promote professional development and positive staff morale.
- Build relationships with pet parents and respond professionally and enthusiastically to client inquiries, feedback, and requests.
- Collaborate on community outreach, promotions, and marketing efforts.
- Oversee pet boarding, daycare, and grooming services to ensure pets are safe and well cared for.
- Monitor pet behavior and address concerns promptly and compassionately.
- Maintain detailed records of pet care, incidents, and daily routines.
