About The Position
Animal Care Technicians provide care for pet guests staying at the pet hotel, with a focus on safety, comfort, and cleanliness. The company is employee-owned and operated, has more than 80 locations across 26 states, and has been in business for 30 years. It describes opportunities for growth as the company expands. The position includes welcoming people and pets, checking guests in and out, escorting pets to and from their rooms, providing individual care, feeding and medicating pets according to instructions, and monitoring and charting their consumption and elimination. It also involves cleaning and sanitizing pet suites and boarding areas, laundering, monitoring pet belongings, communicating with management and team members, and assisting with other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Love of animals.
- Professional manner at all times.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds or more.
- Ability to stand and walk for eight hours a day.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on a computer system.
- Ability to handle dogs on leashes and work around disinfectants and sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and animal excretions.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- At least one year of professional animal experience.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain pet suites, condos, general boarding areas, and the kitchen.
- Feed and water pet guests, and medicate them according to instructions.
- Monitor and accurately chart each pet guest, including consumption and elimination, and report concerns to management.
- Monitor pet belongings.
- Perform laundry duties.
- Welcome human and pet guests, check pets in and out, and provide excellent customer service.
- Escort pets to and from their rooms.
- Follow safe animal-handling procedures and identify animal body language and behavior.
- Provide individual care to boarding guests and perform activities as scheduled.
- Help maintain facility cleanliness by sanitizing and disinfecting pet suites, condos, and general boarding areas.
- Communicate with management and other team members.
- Work independently and as part of a team, and assist other associates or perform other duties as needed.
