About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports the department manager in leading the Accessories & Shoes department at State Street Rack. The role focuses on directive selling, achieving sales goals, and providing an exceptional customer experience. The Assistant Manager helps lead, develop, and motivate the team; supports department volume and productivity goals by developing and executing a business plan; and ensures service, merchandising, presentation, inventory management, and shrinkage standards are met. The position involves actively selling on the floor and building long-lasting customer relationships. The listed pay range is $21.50–$27.00 per hour, with offers dependent on location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The position may be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.

Requirements

• A track record of successful results, such as strong productivity or personal trade.
• Competitive drive and entrepreneurial confidence to succeed in a commission-based environment.
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals.
• Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with department and store managers, divisional retail merchandisers, and other leaders.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills.

Responsibilities
