About The Position

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in leading the Accessories & Shoes department at Nordstrom Rack. The role focuses on directive selling, achieving sales goals, developing a productive team, and providing an exceptional customer experience. The position also supports department business planning, merchandising standards, inventory management, and shrinkage goals.

The role offers an hourly pay range of $19.25–$30.75, with pay dependent on location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The position may be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses. Requirements

• Demonstrated successful results, such as strong productivity or personal trade.
• Competitive drive and entrepreneurial confidence to succeed in a commission-based environment.
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals.
• Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with department and store managers, divisional retail merchandisers, and other leaders.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, develop, and motivate the team.
• Assist the department manager in achieving department volume and productivity goals by developing and executing a business plan.
• Teach, coach, and lead by example to ensure salespeople deliver outstanding customer service.
• Work with the department manager to meet merchandising and presentation standards.
• Actively sell on the floor to build lasting customer relationships and develop customer loyalty.
• Assist the department manager with accurate inventory management and achieving shrinkage goals.
