About The Position

The Assistant Manager supervises daily restaurant operations to ensure food safety, product preparation, cleanliness, and inventory control standards are maintained. The role schedules and supervises staff, maintains restaurant safety and security standards, and emphasizes exceptional customer service. The Assistant Manager manages approximately 4 to 12 staff members and may work in any area of the restaurant as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in restaurant operations, preferably with supervisory experience.
Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with employees at all levels.
Ability to work in any area of the restaurant when needed.
Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale system or cash register.
Ability to bend, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
Ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

Computer knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

Train newer or less experienced Sandwich Artists in their tasks and responsibilities.
Follow quality standards, formulas, and procedures outlined in the SUBWAY Operations Manual.
Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the SUBWAY Operations Manual.
Perform light paperwork duties as assigned.
Supervise food preparation as needed to maintain food safety and operational standards.
Coordinate and supervise staff to maintain cleanliness standards.
Manage a staff of approximately 4 to 12; assign, oversee, and evaluate work.
Recommend employee promotion, transfer, or termination.
Conduct written and verbal staff evaluations as needed.
Perform paperwork duties and assist with product orders and inventory as needed.
Assist with planning special events and promotions.
Complete University of SUBWAY courses as directed.
Maintain restaurant safety and security standards and provide exceptional customer service.
Perform other similar, comparable, or related duties as required or assigned.
