About The Position

Terrabis is a privately held cannabis company focused on innovation and market expansion across wholesale, retail, and customer experience. The Retail Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in leading a retail team and promoting employee development, exceptional customer service, and operational excellence. The role drives sales through product education and cannabis industry knowledge, supports team building and coaching, and helps ensure regulatory compliance and a smooth customer experience. The position also supports daily store operations, staffing and scheduling, inventory management, cash handling, documentation and ID verification, and accurate use of the Point of Sale system. The Assistant Manager helps maintain store readiness and opening and closing procedures, delegates shift tasks as appropriate, and works with the General Manager to address operational and product discrepancies.

Requirements

At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a retail setting; specialty retail experience is preferred.
Inventory control experience.
Proactive approach, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to consistently meet timelines and work effectively under pressure.
Openness to constructive, developmental feedback.
Strong interpersonal skills in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, including cross-functional work.
Strong math skills.
Ability to use standard office equipment and computer software, including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications, and email.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must pass all required background checks.
Must possess a valid driver's license or state ID.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must comply with all legal and company regulations for working in the industry.
Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 30 pounds, or 100 pounds with assistance; the job may also involve extended walking or standing, stooping, bending, and crouching.

Responsibilities

Support the General Manager in leading a culture that prioritizes employee development and customer service.
Drive sales through product education and knowledge of the cannabis industry.
Build teams in accordance with the company's mission, vision, and goals.
Develop and coach Terrabis Leads to elevate their skills and expertise.
Set clear expectations and use performance management to establish accountability.
Support the General Manager in developing team schedules and staffing the dispensary.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensure an assortment of products, and communicate inventory action items to the General Manager.
Work with the General Manager to maintain smooth, proper, and compliant retail operations, including daily activities, maintenance, and employee concerns.
Complete or delegate assigned shift tasks, including cleaning the store, bathrooms, patient areas, and break room.
Ensure correct cash handling and application of discounts when applicable.
Verify appropriate patient paperwork, documentation, and identification.
Use and maintain the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately.
Ensure POS stations are ready for store opening.
Ensure opening and closing checklists are completed in a timely manner.
Assist the General Manager with inventory management processes, including deliveries, cycle counts, and order accuracy verification.
Assist with investigating product discrepancies and maintaining a culture of compliance.
Perform other duties assigned by the General Manager.
