The Assistant Practice Manager supports the Practice Manager in daily practice operations, patient flow, team coordination, and service execution. This hands-on developmental leadership role builds operational knowledge and leadership capability while preparing the employee for possible expanded responsibility. The position works actively on the practice floor and learns and supports multiple practice functions, including patient care coordination, optical sales and service, technician or clinical support, patient handoffs, and daily operational routines. The role does not own the full scope of practice management; specific areas of responsibility may be assigned according to practice needs, business priorities, and individual readiness. The Assistant Practice Manager helps create an environment where team members feel supported and developed, while contributing to exceptional patient care and business results. The role works with the Practice Manager and Optometrist, reinforces patient-centered service, supports coaching and training, helps identify operational and patient-service issues, and may serve as the designated practice point of contact during the Practice Manager’s absence when assigned.
