About The Position

The C-Store Assistant Manager assists with and oversees daily operations to promote efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. The role leads a team in providing exceptional customer service, manages operational processes, and executes strategies to grow sales and meet organizational goals. It may involve hands-on responsibility for multiple business operations, including the retail store, fuel, restaurant, and fresh kitchen. The Assistant Manager helps maintain a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility; supports sales through ordering, stocking, inventory management, and merchandising; assists the General Manager with task execution, scheduling, cash integrity, and reporting; and reviews financial reports to identify opportunities. The role also collaborates with managers on talent acquisition.

Requirements

At least 1 year of management experience in retail, a travel stop or convenience store, big box, grocery, or department store.
At least 1 year managing operations with an annual sales volume of $2 million or more.
At least 1 year working with budgets and profit and loss statements.
At least 1 year supervising and training 5–10 or more employees.
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Valid driver's license and ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle check.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Strong customer service, rapport-building, salesmanship, and operational management skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
Effective teamwork skills.
Ability to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, evenings, nights, occasional overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including frequent lifting or moving of items over 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Oversee hands-on operations across multiple business areas, potentially including the retail store, fuel, restaurant, and fresh kitchen.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility, including restroom and shower cleanliness, facilities and equipment maintenance, and safety checks.
Drive sales through efficient ordering, stocking, inventory management, and merchandising standards.
Assist the General Manager with task execution and completion, scheduling, cash integrity, and daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
Understand and analyze financial reports, including profit and loss statements, and take action to capitalize on opportunities.
Collaborate with managers on talent acquisition.
Lead a team in providing exceptional customer service and meeting organizational goals.
