About The Position

The Assistant Manager supervises daily restaurant operations to ensure food safety, product preparation, cleanliness, and inventory control standards are maintained. The role schedules and supervises staff, maintains restaurant safety and security standards, and places strong emphasis on exceptional customer service. The Assistant Manager manages approximately 4 to 12 staff members and may assign, oversee, and evaluate their work.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in restaurant operations, preferably with supervisory experience.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with employees at all levels.
Ability to work in any area of the restaurant when needed.
Ability to operate a computerized point-of-sale system or cash register.
Ability to bend, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
Ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Computer knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

Train newer or less experienced Sandwich Artists® in their tasks and responsibilities.
Follow quality standards, formulas, and procedures in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual.
Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual.
Perform assigned paperwork duties.
Supervise food preparation as needed to maintain food safety and operations standards.
Coordinate and supervise staff to maintain cleanliness standards in accordance with the SUBWAY® Operations Manual.
Manage approximately 4 to 12 staff members; assign, oversee, and evaluate work.
Recommend employee promotion, transfer, or termination.
Conduct written and verbal staff evaluations when needed.
Assist with product orders and inventory as needed.
Assist with planning special events and promotions.
Complete University of SUBWAY® courses as directed.
Work in any area of the restaurant when needed and operate a computerized point-of-sale system or cash register.
Perform other similar or related duties as required or assigned.
