About The Position

The Assistant Manager: Freight Flow plays a key leadership role in driving sales and profitability, fostering a customer-first selling culture, and executing daily business priorities. The role leads store logistics processes that support company initiatives and productivity goals. In partnership with the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager leads and develops a high-performance team while maintaining World Market’s values, brand, policies, and operational standards. The position requires working a flexible schedule, which may include nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs. It also involves standing for extended periods, bending, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 40 pounds as needed. The minimum age for the role is 21. Full-time benefits are available beginning on the first of the month following 30 days of continuous employment; 401(k) participation is available to eligible full-time and part-time associates after three months of service.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of relevant leadership experience in a fast-paced specialty retail selling culture is preferred.
Proven experience delivering results, customer experience, and operational results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Use company tools and training resources to ensure the team follows freight-flow processes, visual execution standards, and stocking routines.
Coordinate with the Store Manager to plan freight processing.
Validate and maintain Loss Prevention policies and procedures and inventory management initiatives.
Maintain and manage stockroom organization and standards.
Analyze business trends using available reporting, identify business opportunities, and take appropriate action.
Exemplify, maintain, and foster World Market’s culture and values.
Support and maintain a safe work environment through ongoing safety training, awareness, and accountability.
Plan and execute daily business tasks and duties assigned by the Store Manager, including in the Store Manager’s absence.
Lead and develop a high-performance team in partnership with the Store Manager.
Drive sales and profitability, foster a customer-first selling culture, and execute daily business priorities.
