About The Position

The TownePlace Suites Fort Mill Hotel is looking for an Assistant General Manager to join our team! This role is directly responsible for entire hotel operations including overall guest satisfaction, breakfast, front desk, housekeeping and engineering. The Assistant General Manager will also be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring candidates for open positions, as well as analyzing, coordinating, and designing training classes for associates regarding safety, legal compliance, and guest service. This position requires interpreting and enforcing company policies and employment laws, and supporting management in enforcing policies and laws, including appropriate discipline. The Assistant General Manager will also be responsible for all personnel administrative paperwork and documentation.

Requirements

  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Must have exceptional mathematical and computer skills.
  • High school education and relevant training and experience required.
  • Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates.
  • CPR training required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain standards of quality guest service.
  • Achieve budgeted revenues and expenses and maximize profitability related to the guest services department.
  • Develop short- and long-term financial and operational plans for the guest service department that relate to the overall objectives of the hotel.
  • Facilitate department meetings to ensure 100% communication throughout all hotel departments.
  • Increase level of guest satisfaction that exceeds brand requirements and company average by delivery of an exceptional product through employee development.
  • Directly responsible for entire hotel operations including overall guest satisfaction, breakfast, front desk, housekeeping and engineering.
  • Establish and maintain cost control systems for monthly ordering in relation to the checkbook.
  • Review the reservation function to maintain the highest possible room occupancy and average daily rate through suggestive selling by associates.
  • Maintain and correct procedures for credit control, financial transactions, security of financial assets, and guest security.
  • Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Ability to accurately use various office and accounting software for maintaining the Human Resources functions at the property level.
  • Recruit, interview, reference, and hire candidates for open positions.
  • Analyze, coordinate, and design training classes for associates regarding safety, other legal compliance matters, and guest service.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and employment laws. Support management in enforcing policies and laws, including appropriate discipline.
  • Responsibility for all personnel administrative paperwork and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
