About The Position

The Assistant General Manager supports the Restaurant Manager, shift leaders, and restaurant team. In the Restaurant Manager’s absence, the Assistant General Manager performs the Restaurant Manager’s duties. The role primarily covers floor operations and Brand Training programs, providing positive leadership to deliver friendly guest experiences, operational excellence, and profitable sales at a single restaurant. The Assistant General Manager supports restaurant operations in accordance with Dunkin’ standards, franchisee policies and procedures, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

Perform all responsibilities of restaurant team members.
Lead team meetings with the Restaurant Manager.
Oversee Brand Training Programs, including scheduling, training, validating, and certifying team members and shift leaders.
Ensure Brand standards, recipes, and systems are followed.
Create and maintain a guest-focused restaurant culture.
Review guest feedback and implement action plans to improve results.
Communicate restaurant priorities, goals, and results to team members.
Work with the Restaurant Manager on new product rollouts, including training, marketing, and sampling where applicable.
Set up in-store Point of Purchase materials according to Brand standards.
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by following and enforcing safety, food safety, and sanitation requirements and applicable laws.
Control costs to help maximize profitability.
Complete inventory periodically as determined by the franchisee.
Support the Restaurant Manager in preparing the weekly labor schedule so shifts are staffed to meet guest demand and service standards.
Support the Restaurant Manager in assigning staff and managing deployment.
Support the Restaurant Manager in completing supplier and other vendor orders.
Conduct self-assessments and develop corresponding action plans.
Ensure the restaurant budget is met as determined by the franchisee.
Manage restaurant cash overages and shortages and ensure team members follow the franchisee’s cash management policies.
Engage with the Dunkin’ Brands Field Operations team as appropriate.
Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop restaurant team members.
Assist with team member and shift leader performance appraisals.
Coach team members to drive sales and improve profitability and guest satisfaction.
