About The Position

The key principle of an admissions counselor is to support the mission of Lipscomb University, which is to integrate Christian faith and practice with academic excellence by recruiting an academically qualified and diverse population of students.

Requirements

  • Must manage an assigned local territory with the direction of the leadership team.
  • Must have an understanding and desire to advocate for college access and a willingness to support first-generation college students including special programming and events.
  • Must have a knowledge base and willingness to provide financial aid counseling to prospective students.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a positive image of Lipscomb through the professional performance of your job.
  • Responsible for recruiting freshman students from Metro Nashville Public Schools and Nashville Charter Schools while achieving enrollment goals in academic quality and diversity as well as building positive relationships with friends of Lipscomb.
  • Assist and/or coordinate special events on and off campus, including weekends when necessary, and as assigned by the Assistant VP for Enrollment.
  • Responsible for meeting recruitment goals as determined by the leadership team of undergraduate admission.
  • Responsible for completing office duties including but not limited to admissions/financial aid visits with prospective families, campus tours when needed, receiving inbound calls, and other duties.
  • Manage an assigned local territory with the direction of the leadership team. Territory management will include: building relationships between the college and prospective students, conducting high school visits, attending college fairs, hosting events & information sessions, meeting with counselors and key leaders, meeting with alumni, and making connections.
  • Additional responsibilities within the Office of Admission will include data management, budget management, scholarship programming, etc.
  • Have an understanding and desire to advocate for college access and a willingness to support first-generation college students including special programming and events.
  • Provide financial aid counseling to prospective students.
