About The Position

Emory University seeks an enthusiastic, collaborative Assistant Director of Admissions to recruit, counsel, and engage prospective students while helping build each incoming class. The role combines student outreach, public presentations, application review, and strategic project leadership in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The Assistant Director represents Emory on campus and nationally, serves on the Admission Committee, and helps advance the university’s commitment to academic excellence and student success. The position includes regular travel, evening and weekend programs, and a blend of in-person and virtual engagement. Travel is approximately three weeks in the fall and two weeks in the spring for college fairs, high school visits, and university receptions across the nation. The successful candidate will conduct information sessions, respond to inquiries from a range of university constituencies, and review approximately 1,000 applicants as part of a 30-member Admission Committee. A special project area will be assigned by the supervisor and office leadership; possible areas include Arts at Emory, international enrollment, faculty support, student volunteers, tour guides, counselor programs, alumni volunteers, and transfer admission. The role requires working comfortably in a hybrid programming and office model. Tasks are generally performed in person at an Emory University location; remote-work days may be granted at department discretion, and Emory may change remote-work status with notice. Time away from the office and home is common at points in the academic calendar, and some weekend and evening work may be requested during busy cycles.
