About The Position

Emory University seeks an enthusiastic, collaborative Assistant Director of Admissions to recruit, counsel, and engage prospective students while helping build each incoming class. The role combines student outreach, public presentations, application review, and strategic project leadership in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The Assistant Director represents Emory on campus and nationally, serves on the Admission Committee, and supports the university’s commitment to academic excellence and student success. The position develops and evaluates recruitment strategies, recruits students through school visits and college fairs, and coordinates admission programs for student groups. It includes reviewing applications, providing ratings and recommendations, conducting information sessions, responding to inquiries, and coordinating visitation programs and special projects. A project focus may include Arts at Emory, international enrollment, faculty support, or student volunteers, with the specific assignment determined by a supervisor and office leadership. Travel is common at points in the academic calendar, including approximately three weeks in fall and two weeks in spring. Evening and weekend work may be requested during busy academic-year cycles. The role includes both in-person and virtual programming and office work. Tasks are generally performed in person at an Emory University location; remote-work days may be granted at department discretion, and Emory may change remote-work status with notice.
