The Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) works closely with the Club Manager to provide leadership and direction within the club and drive club performance, especially in directly managed departments. The role prepares the trainee for one of three Assistant Club Manager positions—Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience—with development and experience aligned to the designated track and eventual oversight of its corresponding departments. The AMIT ensures consistent execution of policies and procedures, a positive member-service experience, Grand Opening Look Daily (GOLD) club conditions, and overall operational leadership. The role develops talent, demonstrates leadership, delivers consistent results, leads audit compliance, collaborates with Business Partners, and oversees onboarding, certification, and training to support food safety and operational excellence. The AMIT also serves as Manager on Duty when needed, taking responsibility for club operations, team leadership, and member engagement during assigned shifts. A valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification must be obtained and maintained in good standing. Annual forklift certification may be required. In Florida, the role must obtain a qualifier certification through the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for retail propane oversight; BJ’s covers applicable training and certification costs. This position requires open-shift availability and regular, predictable, full attendance. The stated starting pay is $69,500.00.
