The Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) works closely with the Club Manager to provide leadership and direction within the club, drive club performance, and oversee assigned departments. The role prepares the trainee for one of three Assistant Club Manager tracks: Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience. Development and experience are aligned to the designated track, which ultimately includes oversight of the corresponding departments. The AMIT ensures consistent execution of policies and procedures, positive member service, and Grand Opening Look Daily (GOLD) club standards. The role develops talent, leads audit compliance, collaborates with Business Partners, and oversees onboarding, certification, and training to promote food safety and operational excellence. The AMIT may serve as Manager on Duty, assuming responsibility for club operations, team leadership, and member engagement during assigned shifts. A valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification must be maintained. The position may require yearly forklift certification; in Florida, it also requires a qualifier certification for retail propane oversight. BJ’s covers applicable costs and training for the Florida certification.
