About The Position

Houston Fitness Partners, an independently owned Planet Fitness franchisee, is hiring an Assistant Club Manager in Angleton. The role supports the Club Manager in staffing, operations, member service, facility upkeep, safety, reporting, and inventory. The position may require working at any Planet Fitness location within the Houston Fitness Partners franchise. The stated pay rate is $17.65 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Willingness to become CPR/AED certified before gaining employment and maintain certification while employed.
• Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
• Exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-resolution skills; hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic.
• Ability to stand and walk continually throughout the club during a shift.
• Ability to work alone on third shift (overnight) if overnight staff is unavailable.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform frequent cleaning and sanitizing and to bend, twist, and reach as needed.
• Ability to work around toxic chemicals during a shift.

Nice To Haves

• Previous work experience at Planet Fitness is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing Member Service Representatives, Overnight Member Services Representatives, and Fitness Instructors.
• Lead by example in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for members, prospective members, and guests, and ensure staff follow customer service guidelines.
• Resolve member concerns fairly and equitably.
• Assist with staff management and support the Club Manager with reporting, inventory, and other assigned duties.
• Help administer and enforce company policies and procedures with staff and members.
• Perform front-desk activities, including answering phones, assisting members, checking in members, signing up new members, giving tours, and addressing member requests, issues, and questions.
• Ensure the gym opens and closes promptly in accordance with proper protocols.
• Oversee facility cleanliness and maintenance, including responsibility for the largest daily cleaning section.
• Ensure the safety of employees, members, and club property.
• Identify and communicate equipment repair needs promptly.
• Work at any Planet Fitness location within the Houston Fitness Partners franchise as needed.
