About The Position

Houston Fitness Partners, an independently owned Planet Fitness franchisee, is hiring a Club Manager. Planet Fitness aims to provide a high-quality fitness experience in a welcoming, non-intimidating “Judgment Free Zone.” The Club Manager leads club staff and operations, maintains a welcoming environment, and supports customer service, staffing, safety, cleanliness, equipment maintenance, marketing, and revenue goals. The position may require working at any Planet Fitness location within the Houston Fitness Partners franchise.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be willing to obtain CPR/AED certification before employment and maintain certification while employed.
• Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
• Exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-resolution skills; hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic.
• Able to stand and walk continually throughout the club during a shift.
• Able to work alone on third shift (overnight) if overnight staff is unavailable.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must work around toxic chemicals and frequently clean and sanitize equipment and facilities.
• Must be able to bend, twist, and reach.

• Experience working as an Assistant Manager at Planet Fitness.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, and develop Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, and Fitness Instructors.
• Lead by example and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members, prospective members, and guests; ensure staff follow customer service guidelines.
• Monitor payroll and scheduling to ensure the club is adequately staffed.
• Address club and online issues involving employees and members appropriately, respectfully, and promptly.
• Manage disciplinary and termination activities; prepare HR forms and send them to the Corporate HR team on time.
• Perform front-desk duties, including answering phones, assisting members, checking in members, signing up new members, giving tours, and handling member requests and questions.
• Open and close the gym promptly according to established protocols.
• Oversee facility cleanliness and maintenance, including responsibility for the largest daily cleaning section.
• Ensure the safety of employees, members, and club property.
• Identify and communicate equipment repairs promptly.
• Manage marketing efforts by ensuring staff understand and are trained on promotions to meet or exceed revenue goals.
• Complete weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
• Work at any Planet Fitness location within the Houston Fitness Partners franchise as needed.
