About The Position

Houston Fitness Partners, an independently owned Planet Fitness franchisee, is hiring a Club Manager to lead club operations and staff. The role focuses on maintaining a welcoming, non-intimidating environment, delivering superior customer service, and ensuring the club is adequately staffed, safe, clean, and well maintained. The manager may be required to work at any Planet Fitness location within the Houston Fitness Partners franchise. The Club Manager oversees recruiting, hiring, training, and developing staff; employee scheduling and payroll; member and employee concerns; disciplinary and termination activities; front-desk operations; opening and closing procedures; facility cleanliness and maintenance; equipment repairs; marketing promotions; and regular reporting. The position includes hands-on cleaning and member service duties, and may require working alone on the overnight shift if overnight staff are unavailable. The listed salary is $45,000–$52,000 annually. Benefits for full-time staff working at least 30 hours per week include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan after 12 months of employment, a free PF Black Card gym membership, growth opportunities, 15 days of annual paid time off, and select holidays.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be willing to obtain CPR/AED certification before employment and maintain it while employed.
Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
Exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
Strong problem-resolution skills; hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic.
Ability to work alone on the third (overnight) shift if overnight staff are unavailable.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Able to stand and walk continually throughout the club during a shift.
Able to perform frequent cleaning and sanitizing, and some bending, twisting, and reaching.
Will encounter toxic chemicals during a shift.

Responsibilities

Recruit, hire, train, and develop Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, and Fitness Instructors.
Lead by example and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members, prospective members, and guests while ensuring staff follow customer service guidelines.
Monitor employee payroll and scheduling to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
Address club and online issues involving employees and members appropriately, respectfully, and promptly.
Manage disciplinary and termination activities.
Prepare HR forms and submit them to the Corporate HR team in a timely manner.
Perform front-desk duties, including answering phones, assisting members, checking in members, and signing up new members.
Facilitate member requests, issues, and questions.
Ensure the gym opens and closes promptly and follows proper protocols.
Oversee facility cleanliness and maintenance, including personally cleaning the largest section daily.
Ensure the safety of employees, members, and club property.
Identify and communicate equipment repairs in a timely manner.
Manage marketing efforts by ensuring staff understand and are trained on promotions to meet or exceed revenue goals.
Complete weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
Work at any Planet Fitness location within the Houston Fitness Partners franchise when required.
