The Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) works closely with the Club Manager to provide leadership and direction within the club and drive club performance, particularly in the departments they manage. The role prepares individuals to assume one of three Assistant Club Manager positions: Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience. Training and experience are aligned to the designated track, with the trainee ultimately overseeing its corresponding departments. The AMIT ensures consistent execution of company policies and procedures, positive member service, and Grand Opening Look Daily (GOLD) club standards. The role develops talent, leads audit compliance, collaborates with Business Partners, and oversees onboarding, certification, and training to support food safety and operational excellence. As Manager on Duty when needed, the AMIT takes responsibility for club operations, team leadership, and member engagement during assigned shifts. A valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification must be obtained and maintained in good standing. The role may require yearly forklift certification. In Florida, the AMIT must obtain a Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services qualifier certification for retail propane oversight; BJ’s covers applicable costs and training. The position requires open shift availability and regular, predictable, full attendance. Compensation starts at $63,750.00; actual salary may vary based on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
