About The Position

A Bloomingdale’s Asset Protection Visual Security Officer provides a visible, welcoming presence at the customer entrance to help deter theft and support a positive customer shopping experience. The officer helps maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues, greets and engages customers, and offers assistance. Bloomingdale’s provides an Asset Protection training program to equip officers with the knowledge and tools for the role as they grow in responsibility. Officers are expected to maintain a high degree of professionalism while carrying out their duties in the store.

Requirements

• No education or experience required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourcefulness and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• May occasionally need to reach above eye level, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Frequently lift or move up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers while on the selling floor.
• Visually monitor customer traffic entering and exiting the store.
• Deter theft through visual observation.
• Maintain a safe business environment.
• Communicate suspicious activity to Asset Protection/Security.
